5-Axis CNC Milling
CNC milling provides a high level of precision combined with machining flexibility – both critical for manufacturing a wide range of parts that come with difficult geometries, complex shapes, and generally tight tolerances. For example, our 5-axis milling services are exceptional at producing 3D contours, undercuts, and complex curves for flat, square, and rectangular parts.
Capable of meeting high-precision requirements, our milling machines achieve an angular tolerance of two thousandths of a degree (.002°) and linear tolerances of two ten-thousandths of an inch (.0002”). Our facility also integrates multiple large-turn capacity lathes with milling capability, accommodating large part diameters up to 30” with lengths up to 80”, and milled parts up to 72” in width x 120” in length.
CNC Turning and Swiss Lathes
With our lathe capabilities, we have increased our production output capacity, completing dynamic projects, for instance one order was for 300,000 pieces. Each turned metal parts project will require unique sizing requirements, but Superior Machining often works with turned components that measure under Ø1.496” x 2” in length and below.
Swiss turning is an advanced CNC machining process that is ideal for performing micromachining services. Compared to conventional CNC lathes, our Swiss lathes are much more optimized for the manufacturing of small parts and miniature components with precision tolerances. For example, Superior specializes in manufacturing precision aerospace hardware, fasteners, and related Swiss machined small parts.
Custom Tooling and Workholding Devices
Precision machined and fabricated parts require precision tooling and workholding devices. CAD/CAM Design Support
Our experts have a deep understanding of cutting parameters such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut.
