3D CAD/CAM
Superior programmers use the latest version of Mastercam to import data from our customers. Mastercam provides the capability to generate machine programs for 3, 4 and 5 axis simultaneous machining on multiple parts with real time machine tool simulation.

5 Axis Milling
Superior provides 5 axis CNC machining to achieve an angular tolerance of two thousandth’s of a degree (.002°) and linear tolerances of two ten-thousandth’s of an inch (.0002”) to meet the needs of the most advanced aerospace applications – from thin wall aluminum structures to hard metal titanium fittings and components.

Grinding
Grinding is a machining process that takes a very light “cut” using abrasive media—typically an abrasive grinding wheel. Grinding wheels with different grit sizes achieve rougher or finer grinding passes, according to the needs of the application.
When ultra-high precise accuracy and/or surface finish are required, grinding is often used as a finishing process after some other metalworking operation. Grinding is also an effective process for machining workpiece materials that are too hard for milling or turning.

Inpection
When you need high quality aerospace machining that meets the AS9100 and ISO9001 standards, you can rely on Superior to produce the tight tolerance parts you require.
We have a temperature environmentally controlled quality room that comprise multiple automated CNC CMMs (Coordinate Measurement Machines), vision system, optical comparators, microscopes, and manual bench style contact gauges are among our dimensional verification tools.
All of the inspection equipment is contained in a climate controlled lab calibrated to NIST traceable standard, according to our ISO 9001 and AS9100 certified quality management program. Superior records and reports data electronically, making these tools invaluable for first article inspection reporting such as AS9102 FAIR requirements, continual in-process inspection procedures and even process capability studies (CpK).
Our complete system support includes the following:
Benefits of Superior’s 5 Axis Machining:
